How to Set Up Your Instagram Feed with Smash Balloon Plugin

In this tutorial, I will guide you through the process of setting up your Instagram feed using the Smash Balloon plugin and customizing it to match the demo site.

1. Log into your Instagram account

Within the same browser you’re using to set up your website, open another tab and log into your Instagram account. That will be helpful in the steps ahead.

2. Activate the Smash Balloon plugin and connect your Instagram account

In the sidebar, go to Plugins > Installed Plugins > Under Smash Balloon select Activate.

In the sidebar, go to Instagram Feed > All Feeds > Select the red Add New button.

Keep the default User Timeline feed type selected and hit Next > Select Add Source then follow the prompts to link your Instagram account.

3. Customize settings to look like the Demo Site

In the sidebar, go to Instagram Feed. You should see your account listed, click on it to open customization settings.

Under Customize > Click Feed Layout > Scroll to Number of Posts and enter 6 for both Desktop and Mobile. Under Columns enter 6 for Desktop and 3 Tablet and Mobile.

Scroll back to the top, hit the red Save button on the right. Then, click on the small Customize link on the left to return to the main customization page.

Under Customize > Click Header > Deselect Enable. Again, hit Save then click on the small Customize link to return to the main customization page.

Under Customize > click Load More Button > Deselect Enable. Hit Save then click on the small Customize link to return to the main customization page.

Under Customize > click Follow Button > Deselect Enable > Save.

Refresh the frontend of the site and your feed should now be visible in the footer.
